Why Our Professional Studies Programs?

Accreditation

Vanguard University is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and is conveniently located in Orange County near the 405 and 55 freeways in Costa Mesa, California. In our Professional Studies Program, you can attend school only one night per week and complete your upper division classes in less than two years.

Beyond Academics

No matter your major or area of study, at Vanguard, you’ll get the understanding you need in an environment designed to help you excel. Our commitment to go beyond academics leads to academic transformation, where you’ll cultivate new abilities to think critically, communicate clearly, and interact intelligently—taking you places you never thought possible.

Vanguard’s Professional Studies Programs are designed for working adults who want to complete their Bachelor’s Degree.  We provide students with a convenient learning schedule by offering classes one night per week for the duration of the program.  General Education and elective courses are available both online or in classroom on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Students may schedule to take only one class at a time, with each class running 5-10 weeks, depending on the class.

Online courses are 8 weeks in length (for all Early Childhood Education courses and some General Education courses).

Beyond Integration

Many people talk about the integration of faith and life. At Vanguard, we believe they were never separate to begin with. Our understanding of the world—in science, business, education, the arts, and beyond—informs and deepens our faith, bringing color and life in surprising ways. As we go beyond integration, we discover a reality based instead on incarnation, where faith comes to life in every molecule, every equation, every performance… in every moment.

Founded in 1920, Vanguard University (VU) is a private, coeducational, comprehensive university of liberal arts and professional studies that believes its Pentecostal/charismatic Christian community provides a supportive and challenging environment in which to pursue a quality education. The University assumes that it is essential to offer educational opportunity within a context of free inquiry and academic integrity. Three basic pursuits inherent in the VU educational experience—truth, virtue, and service—are enshrined in the University motto and embossed on its official seal. “Truth, Virtue, and Service” summarizes the institution’s core values. Beyond The Classroom

We believe learning happens best in the context of relationship.  Our accomplished faculty bring real-world experience and nationally-recognized credentials to the classroom.  Professors serve as mentors who network with students as they share their industry expertise.  You’ll go beyond the classroom, getting not only the knowledge you need, but also the wisdom to apply what you’re learning in practical ways.
