Upper division courses are generally scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. one night per week for the duration of the program. General Education and elective courses are available both online or in classroom on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Students may schedule to take only one class at a time, with each class running 5-8 weeks.
Online courses are available in an 8 week format (availability is limited to General Adult Education and Early Childhood Education courses).
Beyond Integration
Many people talk about the integration of faith and life. At Vanguard, we believe they were never separate to begin with. Our understanding of the world—in science, business, education, the arts, and beyond—informs and deepens our faith, bringing color and life in surprising ways. As we go beyond integration, we discover a reality based instead on incarnation, where faith comes to life in every molecule, every equation, every performance…in every moment.
Vanguard University (VU) is a private, coeducational, comprehensive university of liberal arts and professional studies that believes its Pentecostal/charismatic Christian community provides a supportive and challenging environment in which to pursue a quality education. The University assumes that it is essential to offer educational opportunity within a context of free inquiry and academic integrity. VU was founded in 1920. Three basic pursuits inherent in the VU educational experience—truth, virtue, and service—are enshrined in the University motto and embossed on its official seal. “Truth, Virtue, and Service” summarizes the institution’s core values. Beyond The Classroom
We believe learning happens best in the context of relationship. Our faculty spend countless hours—both inside and outside the classroom—to serve as professor-mentors, not just teachers. Through close, coaching relationships, you’ll go beyond the classroom, getting not only the knowledge you need but also the wisdom to apply what you’re learning in practical ways.
